Our mission with the Laredo A&M Mothers Club is to “contribute in every way to the comfort and welfare of the students of Texas A&M and cooperate with the University in maintaining a high standard of moral conduct and intellectual attainment.” We also stimulate local interest in the university by raising funds for scholarships and donations to organizations at Texas A&M.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we had a guest speaker discuss with the Aggie Moms the importance of taking care of ourselves. Dr. Yanick Ekortarh from Laredo Medical Center met with the moms to remind us that is very important to get our yearly checkup. He stressed that early detection of cancer provides the best chance for overall survival of this disease.

Our new freshman Moms got together their care packages to send to our newest students.
We are excited for our upcoming fundraisers with Chipotle in October and Kendra Scott in November. Stay tuned for more information. Great time for early Christmas shopping.
Our next meeting will be in November and we are planning a Bingo night. We will also be serving snacks with our bingo cards. Please join us.

Next meeting is Wednesday, October 12 at St Augustine High School. We will have a guest speaker from Laredo Medical Center discuss Breast Cancer Awareness month.
We will also work on the Freshman care packages for the moms’ to ship to all new students for their first semester in College Station.
